Cemetery Plot Pre-sale to Begin:
The long-awaited day is here! The City Council adopted several new cemetery policies at their meeting on May 28. All other previously established cemetery policies remain in effect (see the Cemetery tab at alpinecity.org).
Alpine residents may purchase up to 3 plots per household. A resident is defined as someone who owns or rents property within city limits and who receives a city utility bill.
Due to topography, plots in the north expansion of the cemetery (Sections H, I, J & K) will require FLAT headstones. Please understand this before purchasing, so you do not yell at the cemetery lady. She has tender feelings.
In early June, we will begin contacting residents on the waiting list in the order that they joined. This effort will continue throughout the summer. An information sheet, a map, and a selection form will be sent by email. Those who do not have email may stop by City Hall for a packet after they are notified. Plots are $1,700 each and need to be paid for with a check.
There are 1,300 spaces available in the expansion, so everyone on the list will be able to purchase plots. Please be patient, as the City Recorder has a plethora of responsibilities in addition to managing this sale. Also, please take your vitamins and get some exercise so you do not need your plots any time soon.
