Alpine City is in the process of creating a Public Facilities Zone for all property currently used in a public or quasi-public way. This includes all schools, churches, city property, and parks. The purpose of this new zone will be to preserve these properties in their current use. No residential or commercial uses will be allowed in this new zone but will be preserved for parks, open spaces, schools, churches, or city buildings and structures. If a public or quasi-public entity owns property that does not have anything built on it, it would not be rezoned to the Public Facility Zone. This will only impact land that is currently in use as a church, school, or park.
