Open burn is allowed from March 30 – May 30. The open burning permit window opens March 30th and goes through May 30th. This 60-day period is used to burn yard waste and tree trimmings. Forecasting is only available for a 3-day window but multiple 3-day air quality permits can be completed during the 60-day permit window if needed.
Before burning, check that the current air clearing index is greater than 500 (air.utah.gov). We urge those intending to burn yard waste to exercise extreme caution, have small piles, adequate fire breaks between other fuels, and never leave a fire unattended.
